Farmers Market stallTeesdale has a strong tradition of farmers markets and the two main towns in the dale have regular farmers markets.

Barnard Castle holds its Farmers Market on the first Saturday of every month, the stalls are set up on the main cobbled area running through the town centre.  The Market normally is open from the morning until early afternoon.  There is an excellent selection and variety of local producers that regularly attend the market.

Market day in Barnard Castle is every Wednesday, the stalls are set up on the cobbles, so there is no parking on this area during the day.  In addition to the regular market stalls on Wednesday there is a Country Market held in St Mary's Parish Hall with a range of small food and craft producers.

Middleton in Teesdale holds its Farmers Market on the last Sunday of every month.  The market is normally open from the morning until the early afternoon.  The market has a great range of local food and crafts on offer.

In the winter months both markets retreat inside to make a welcome break for shoppers and stall holders from the cold outside.
